In many organizations, what some people find as a company’s downside is also seen as a distinct selling point.
Today, we are seeing another shift in design that has me excited, and a little scared.
Not all startups will go on to be the next Amazon or Google, some never make it.
If it wasn’t obvious looking at the upcoming, much-anticipated Avengers sequel, Marvel is continuously the brand to beat when it comes to all things comic books these days. The folks over at picclick decided to take this head-to-head to the runway and compared the outfits of superheros and villains from the Marvel and DC universes[…]
It began as a way to clear my mind during stressful work days, I would grab a marker and just start drawing whatever came into my head and I would be ready to turn back to my work and tackle the task at hand. What began as a productivity crutch has now transformed into a[…]
The Chive put together a great slideshow of images mashing up comic book characters and their movie counterparts. I am always a fan of mashups, especially if they involve comic art. I have always and will continue to have an appreciation for any remediation of the artform. I took my favorite and included them in[…]

In a wonderful post on Upworthy, Anthony Smith no longer wanted to wear his hearing device claiming “Superheroes don’t wear hearing devices.” Anthony’s mother wrote to Marvel Comics, asking them to draw a comic cover proving to[…]
At the young age of 88, Earl Norem, famous for breathing life into many comic book covers during their golden age, is back with a new original cover for Classics Obliterated #1 featuring Mars Attacks. The original comics, and subsequent movie, are a personal favorite of mine and can truly appreciate the 50’s-style aesthetic Norem[…]

A little post Super Bowl trek through Deviant Art led me to this great work by Teryv83 where he imagines what the Simpsons would look like if they were collectively bitten by the Spiderman universe. Full disclosure, I have not watched the Simpsons in close to 15 years and felt ashamed that I did not[…]
Those of use who might be (or might not be) looking forward to Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the next Batman, it might be a good time to look back on the past 75 years to see exactly how the Dark Knight has been portrayed … at least in logo form. From FastCoDesign: Designed by Cathryn Laver[…]
Below is a great artist rendering of the Avengers as Japanese Sengoku characters. The work is by DeviantArt member Genesischant and is available for sale as a poster. From the artist: “I was wanting to do a new redesigned/ translated set of comics characters for a while, and the new Avengers movie presented a great[…]
