I love data visualizations, infographics and any other forms of visual representation of cold hard data. Maybe it’s my preference for pictures over words, or that infographics allow me to digest a greater amount of information in a shorter amount of time; either way, they are one of the newest and fastest-growing trends in digital media.
A company I have been waiting for a public beta offering from for a while now is Visual.ly (not to be confused with the resume infographic generating company Vizualize.me) and their offerings of infographics of all different shapes and sizes.
In their own words “Infographics and data visualizations are shifting the way people find and experience stories, creating a new way of seeing the world of data. They help communicate complex ideas in a clear, compact and beautiful way, taking deep data and presenting it in visual shorthand. We’ve collected the best examples on the web and gathered them for you to reference, share, and enjoy.”
Below is my first ever infographic created using Visual.ly based on my Twitter handle. I look forward to creating and implementing many more in the very near future.
